Demoscene

I will be brief today.
Do you guys know about demoscene?
Here’s the realtime rendering by the executable 64KB in size, called “Universal Sequence”.
If you don’t believe me, here’s the link to the download page of the executable itself. I just have downloaded and ran it in its original form on my PC.

Demoscene is when you write the most mind-boggling realtime rendering in smallest amount of processor instructions and go boast about it to others on the demoparty like Revision.
Being a software developer I completely adore demo. I consider it a pinnacle of what we are able to do. Demosceners push the limits of the hardware to make the most impressive visuals, and at the same time cram all that code in the smallest size possible. Given that we are far past the days when we were able to fiddle with the video card memory directly, it’s even more impressive. Personally I love everything related to generative art, and sometimes I dream of writing something like this. For art.
